Tools I use for creating stereograms

I use a variety of tools for creating the stereograms on my stereograms page. The following free and open-source software forms the core of my workflow:

3‑D modeling

Pamstereogram from the Netpbm suite

Bitmapped graphics

The Gimp

Vector graphics

Inkscape

In addition to the above, I commonly write one-off programs and throwaway scripts that are specific to a single stereogram.
