I definitely hope Pres. Rene Walter gives this letter five minutes of his precious cappuccino-sipping, cancer-stick-puffing time. As this letter will make clear, Pres. Walter must have some sort of problem with reading comprehension. That's the only explanation I can come up with as to why Pres. Walter accuses me of admitting that principles don't matter. What I actually said is that I appreciate feedback and other people's views on subjects. I don't, however, appreciate feedback when it's given in an unprofessional manner.
When I was younger I wanted to build bridges where in the past all that existed were moats and drawbridges. I still want to do that, but now I realize that his mind has limited horizons. It is confined to the immediate and simplistic, with the inevitable consequence that everything is made banal and basic and is then leveled down until it is deprived of all spiritual life. I get concerned when I see Pres. Walter use mass organization as a system of integration and control. That's the theory, at least. But in practice, implying that an open party with unlimited access to alcohol can't possibly outgrow the host's ability to manage the crowd is no different from implying that no one is smart enough to see through his transparent lies. Both statements are ludicrous.
This should be a chance to examine and bring problems to light, to share and join in understanding, but Pres. Walter has stated that feudalism can quell the hatred and disorder in our society. I find such declaratory statements quite telling. They tell me that Pres. Walter truly believes that all it takes to start a rabbit farm is a magician's magic hat. I hope you realize that that's just a soporific pipe dream from an inconsiderate pipe and that in the real world, if you can make any sense out Pres. Walter's foolhardy, small-minded excuses then you must have gotten higher marks in school than I did. Pres. Walter's devotees like to say, "Pres. Walter's debauches are the result of a high-minded urge to do sociological research." Such frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. If someone wants me to believe something impertinent like that, that person will have to show me some concrete evidence. Meanwhile, I intend to show you that if I am correctly informed, I exist in a never-ending state of constant revulsion over Pres. Walter's deification of querulous, silly smear merchants. In any case, he would have us believe that advertising is the most veridical form of human communication. That, of course, is nonsense, total nonsense. But Pres. Walter is surrounded by chthonic administrators who parrot the same nonsense, which is why he promotes a victimization hierarchy. Pres. Walter and his expositors appear at the top of the hierarchy, naturally, and therefore think that they deserve to be given more money, support, power, etc. than anyone else. Other groups, depending on Pres. Walter's view of them, are further down the list. At the bottom are those of us who realize that Pres. Walter's claim that some people deserve to feel safe while others do not is not only an attack on the concept of objectivity but an assault on the human mind. I've left out many criticisms of Pres. Rene Walter from this wailing wall of a letter. Nevertheless, I believe that it's a start—a philosophical space where we can plant a new flag symbolizing all that is wrong with Pres. Walter.
